“Limb’s not fallin’ off, righ’?” This was a terrible time to joke. But it was a natural reaction, his instinct so people wouldn’t worry about him. “F'anks for the dressin’ an’ comin’ to check on me thoug’. Real nice of you, mate.” A respectful nod in the elder’s direction. He didn’t have to show him any kind of kindness, yet here he was. “M'Dom, by th'way. Don’t usually jump off rooftops, but…”

The joke was met with a small chuckle, a simper lingering after the sound.           “Don’t mention it. Nice to meet you, Dom. I’m Sami.”     He stuck a hand out, eyes detaching from the wound and onto the other’s visage.     “If ya don’t jump off rooftops for a living, what do ya do, then?”

He held the little dressing he had over the oozing scab, a small souvenir for his immature curiosity. “Was jus’ seein’ if I could still land a backflip off the roof of me mum’s flat. Didn’tbreak anyf'in…jus’ took a lil’ tumble, s'all…” His accent was thick in general, but as he took small breaths to suppress the pain that radiated up to his shoulder, it was more noticeable than usual. “Like I said, s'fine. I’ll jus’ stic’ a bandage onnit an’ I’ll be righ’ as rain.”

“Just     stop being so reckless. It can end up worse than this if you’re not careful.”     It was kind of hypocritical to say, considering his bravery caused him to do stupid things and he suffered from cuts, wounds, bruised, broken bones      everything, but he wanted to make sure that others won’t be like him for their sake.     “Y’sure you’re gonna be alright?”

“It doesn’t seem like it’s ‘just a cut’.”    Sami knew he could handle himself  but he didn’t like seeing the wound on his skin regardless. Sighing, he asked,     “So y’gonna get this checked out or what? What were you doin’ anyway?”    He didn’t mean to sound like an overprotective dad, he just cares         too much for his own good, actually.
